
Ysabelle Vautour
Ysabelle Vautour is a multisensory artist and founder of the NB Disability Art Collective. A graduate of Artslink’s Catapult Arts Accelerator Program. Ysabelle explores accessibility and ableism in a fun and playful way through visual and installation art. She began her art practice in 2019 and in that year her art was featured in CBC, Acadie Nouvelle, Art Battle, Dieppe Cultural Center, and was selected for a juried exhibition at the Nails on the Wall Gallery in Metuchen, New Jersey. To date Ysabelle had solo exhibitions at Struts in Sackville, Corrid'art Gallery in Shediac, Penny Gallery in Fredericton, The Leon Leger Gallery and Pattes de Mouches Gallery in Grand Barachois. The legally blind artist collaborated with Theatre New Brunswick and the JRG Art Society for the Arts on Atlantic Canada's first Disability Arts Symposium. She has served as the artist residence at the Fredericton Arts alliance, Fredericton Botanical Gardens and Connexion ARC. Ysabelle was awarded an Artsnb artist in residence grant to work with the NB Coalition with Persons with Disabilities. She was also featured in Akimbo, Global News, CTV, STEPS Public Art, Sunbury Shores, Grunt, Outsiders and Others Gallery in Vancouver. In 2022 Ysabelle received the Jane Leblanc Award in Visual Arts, presented at Third Shift, Nocturne, Inspire and Sappy Fest as well in the new documentary 100% Passion. In 2023 look out for her work at Flourish and Gloomy Meadow Festival in Fredericton and in the James Black Gallery Vancouver after the Hammock Residency.
