When and where is FLOURISH Festival taking place?

FLOURISH Festival 2021 is taking place June 10 - 13 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. We will also be presenting a chunk of our programming online - so it will be available to view from anywhere in the world.

Who can apply?

We accept and encourage applications from all artistic disciplines. We have a drop-down menu on our submission page with some popular options, but there is an 'other' option where you can describe your project genre in your own words.

When do submissions close?

Submissions close December 21st, 2020.

Can I email you my submission after the closing date?

Submissions close December 21st, 2020. Late submissions will not be considered. We want to review them over our holiday break. Please don't email us after submissions close with your submission, it won't be considered.

How much does it cost to submit an application & do I get paid to participate?

It is free to submit an application, and as many applications as you want for as many projects as you want! All opportunities at FLOURISH Festival are paid opportunities.

I have more than one project I want to submit, should I apply more than once?

Play in a band AND want to present a visual art installation? Please submit one application for each individual project - there is no limit to how many projects you can submit! Our selection committee is made up of visual artists, community leaders, musicians, and more in Fredericton. We review every submission carefully and will inform you if you are successful for not.

We realize that the world may not be back to 'normal' come 2021.

Although we are hoping to gather again, we have moved our usual April date to June to allow for more outdoor programming, socially distanced programming, and outdoor public art installations. We will be working with our partner venues to ensure any FLOURISH Festival event is safe, comfortable and in keeping with government guidelines. We encourage applications from artists regardless of your geographic location, and we will be in touch regularly to discuss if travel is an option or not. We encourage artists applying outside of the Maritimes to click yes to the question 'Are you interested in contributing remotely depending on COVID-19 regulations at the time of FLOURISH?'.

We encourage applications from artists and presenters who are gender non-binary; women; Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour; LGBTQ2S; people with disabilities; people from other equity-seeking groups; and people living at the intersections of the above.
