Mariah Sockabasin is a Wabanaki Fashion Artist. She graduated from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design with a Diploma in Fashion Design in 2015. Mariah’s work touches on personal themes of the artist, whether she be expressing her political views or conveying moments in history, Mariah always aims to incorporate her traditional teachings and materials. Mariah is currently exploring with dyeing techniques on moose leather while creating everyday wearable art that embodies an expression of pride in oneself. Her studio is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
